Samuel Mills, MD DrPH, joined the Health Nutrition & Population Global Practice, World Bank Group (WBG) in 2004 initially as a Reproductive Health Specialist. He led the results monitoring of the Global Practice for over a decade and organized quality enhancement reviews of new health projects in all regions. He led the development of the interagency multisectoral 2015–2024 Global Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Scaling up Investment Plan and the development of the 21st-century CRVS e-Learning course which is delivered as part of the WBG Open Learning Campus and has been taken by over 7,000 people from about 140 countries. He was the Task Team leader of the transformative project that has helped to revamp the health sector in The Gambia.
