Marie-Louise Koch Wegter took up her position as Director for Multilateral Cooperation in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 1 August 2023. Ambassador Wegter has worked in a range of leading positions in the Danish foreign service, most recently as
- Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from 2019 to 2023,
- Deputy Head of the Department for Humanitarian Action, Migration and Civil Society from 2016 to 2019,
- Deputy Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations in Geneva from 2012 to 2016,
- Head of Secretariat for the Global Green Growth Forum from 2009 to 2011
- Deputy Head of the Department for Middle East and North Africa from 2007 to 2009.
From 2009 to 2011, she served as Senior Analyst in the Danish Institute for International Studies.
Mrs. Wegter has an International MBA from Copenhagen Business School.
